Post-Jam Update


Our Post-Jam Update is Now Live!!

Making Caribbean Climb for the 2024 GMTK Game Jam was an absolute blast, and we were ecstatic to place 91st overall! However, we weren't ready to let the project go just yet, so we have been hard at work to polish up some rough edges and add new content to what will likely be the final version of Caribbean Climb. Thank you all for your amazing feedback, it's been very valuable for improving the game!

So What's changed?

We started off by fixing quite a few bugs that unfortunately slipped our radar before uploading the jam submission, but since most of these weren't even noticeable to anyone who didn't know how things were actually intended to be, we won't bore you with the details. Long story short: Flooding speedup and level generation now work properly. That being said, we did add quite a few new features and more content we think you'll appreciate, most notably:

  • A leaderboard
  • A tutorial
  • A space background
  • More level sections and decorative objects
  • More forgiving block placement
  • Gentler flooding difficulty scaling

If you're interested to see the changes for yourself, feel free to play the new version. (The space transition starts at about 450, see if you can make it!) Thanks again for all the feedback, and hopefully till next time!
